Bilbo Bagshot is a minor character featured in Spaced.
Background[]
Bilbo is a fan of comic books. His favourite film is "Hawk the Slayer" and he has been known to turn violent if it's insulted, once punching his own father in the face. He is the manager of Fantasy Bazaar, a comic book store, where he employs Tim as his assistant manager.
Appearances[]
Bilbo first appeared in "Beginnings", in which he is seen in a flashback when Daisy mentioned him while describing Tim's life.
He appeared again during "Chaos", when Tim talked to him after having lost Colin, Daisy's dog.
He made his final appearance during "Change", in which he fired Tim for insulting a boy who had saved up his 50 pence pieces to buy a Jar Jar Binks doll from Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace, a film that Tim despised. Tim went to work for the rival comic book store Silent Reading (a riff on the 1970s Sci Fi film Silent Running) operated by Derek, whom Bilbo disliked, and Bilbo hired a Tim lookalike. Bilbo later regretted his decision, and re-hired Tim.

- "Bilbo" is a reference to Bilbo Baggins, and Bagshot is a half-reference to Bag End where Bilbo Baggins lives (who is a Hobbit featured in J.R.R. Tolkein's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings) - and half a mundane reference to the town of Bagshot in Surrey.
