Gatherings is the second episode of Series One of Spaced.
Overview[]
In order to avoid working, Daisy decides to host a housewarming party in her and Tim's new flat, inviting Brian, Twist, Mike, Marsha and, inexplicably, the paper boy.
Synopsis[]
In her continuing efforts to avoid doing any work, Daisy suggests holding a housewarming party to cement their flats status as the new Hub of North London. Tim reluctantly agrees although he states that, due to a Sci Fi convention and skateboarding party taking place, his guest list only consists of his best friend, Mike Watt, who will provide 'door security'. Daisy also admits that her own guest contribution consists of best friend Twist Morgan and the local paperboy.
Party Night turns out to be anti-climactic; Daisy's tin foil decorations and music choices fail to impress, Mike spends most of his time behind the door and Marsha passes out on the sofa. To make matters worse Amber is also holding a much more successful party upstairs, attended by a large crowd of young teen girls. Finally declaring their party to be 'rubbish' Tim and Mike join Amber, returning only to gather more beer and to entice Daisy, Twist and Brian to join them upstairs.
As the episode ends, Marsha regains consciousness and decides to make a move on the paperboy.
